The game's newest Grand Slam champion  is ready to go again.

Stanislas Wawrinka returned to Switzerland and took three and a half weeks off following his Australian Open victory and Davis Cup win, pulling out of a scheduled tournament in Rotterdam to rest his exhausted legs and mind.

"It took me time to realize really what I did in Australian Open. Still when I'm saying that I won a Grand Slam it's still strange for me," he said, after winning his first-round doubles match with Roger Federer. "It was good to be with the family,  to take more time for myself."

He resumed practicing last week ahead of Indian Wells.

"I feel great," he said. "I think my level is really good and physically I'm ready."

Now the top-ranked player in Switzerland, Wawrinka won't say he's ready to start dominating the game, but is drawing confidence from his performances in Australia.

"You know, I'm not sure if I can in a Grand Slam again," he said, with a laugh. "I know I did it already.  I know that I can reach that level, but it's going to be tough.

"I need to be ready every match, to try to win every match."
