Tommy Haas will look to make yet another comeback to tennis following mid-season shoulder surgery.
The 36-year-old has been training in Florida, and says he wants to return to the tour in about three months.
“It has to be seen how the shoulder responds,” he told German newspaper Stuttgart Nachrichten. “But so far everything is good.”
Haas has not played since the French Open, but points to his previous experience in rehabbing from multiple shoulder surgeries. "I have already done it three times," he said. "It feels great to be back on court."
Asked if he had considered retirement, Haas said, "Sure, naturally," but added that he had decided he did not want to stop just yet.
"What really motivates me is still my daughter Valentina, who understands better what I am doing," he said. "And then it drives me that I once again want to get back to the great stages of international tennis."
The German's goals include strong performances in the tournaments in Germany, and getting another win against a top player.
