Agnieszka Radwanska, who has played 21 tournaments this year, says that the WTA season is too long. The season began on January 1 and will end on November 1.
"I think nine months season will be good. I think a lot of people agree with me," Radwanska said. "Everybody wants that. But it's just the way it is."
Currently ranked No. 8, the 26-year-old is still trying to qualify for the eight-player WTA Finals in Singapore and has actually added tournaments to her schedule to help do so.
After falling in the third round of the U.S. Open, Radwanska won Tokyo and then lost to eventual champion Venus Williams in the opening round in Wuhan. She's the fourth seed in Beijing this week. Radwanska will then play Tianjin, and she has accepted a wild card into Moscow.
If Radwanska qualifies for Singapore, she could end up playing six weeks in a row.
"Is a very busy schedule," Radwanska said. "But I'm just doing everything to qualify to Singapore. There is no choice. I need to try every week."
