Spain Selects Nadal to Carry Flag

Spain’s No. 1 player, Rafael Nadal, will get the honorof serving as flag-bearer at the opening ceremony in Rio this year. This is the 29-year-old’s second chance at fulfilling his flag duties, as he was selected for the London Olympics four years ago, but had to pull out with an injury.

Juan Martin del Potro won the first clay-court match of his comeback in Munich on Wednesday. The former world No. 4 took out Dustin Brown, 7-6 (2), 6-4, for his first win on dirt in nearly three years. The Argentine was set back years following numerous wrist surgeries that almost prematurely ended his career.
