What do you get when you're an Olympic gold medal winner and 20-time Grand Slam champion? Apparently one receives their own tram, or at least Roger Federer does. On Friday, Federer was honored in his home country of Switzerland with the launch of a new tram called "The Federer Express."

"The project was very important to me. That is why it is a great honor for me to be able to see the tram on the streets of Basel in the future,“ Federer told Swiss press.

The world No. 11 was spotted in Basel on Friday viewing the tram adorned with photos of his most iconic and memorable moments. Inside the tram there are important and interesting facts about the Grand Slam champion that riders can indulge in, and selected seats even look similar to changeover benches on the court.

Federer who always voices his love for Switzerland is also its tourism ambassador. In fact, earlier this year he showcased his acting skills in a Switzerland tourism commercial alongside Robert De Niro.

The 40-year-old recently took to Instagram to share the news with fans and is feeling completely humbled to be standing where he is today.

"Thank you for the incredible honor. It feels like just yesterday I was a boy getting to practice everyday on No.8," the former No. 1 wrote on Instagram.

Federer recently underwent his third knee surgery, but just last weekend appeared without crutches for the first time. He will not compete on the ATP Tour for the remainder of the season but has his sights set on a 2022 return.
