After defeating Roger Federer in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, Kevin Anderson was the talk of the tournament. The new world No. 5 spoke to ATP about making it all the way to the final, and the newfound confidence he has gained.

After the (first) grueling five setter against the Swiss, 2-6, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, 13-11, the South African looked like he could go all the way. Anderson tried to think of Federer as "just another tennis player" and called it "possibly the best match of his career."

Of course, that wasn't the end of Anderson's Wimbledon saga. He set the record for the fourth longest tennis match ever by defeating John Isner in 6 hours and 35 minutes. That night, after sleeping only for about an hour, he felt like his feet were on fire and needed immediate treatment.

Even though he lost the final against Novak Djokovic in straight sets Anderson isn't feeling down, having achieved a Top 5-ranking for the first time in his career.

"All in all, obviously there was so many positives to take from this whole fortnight," Anderson said.
