Bianca Andreescu is eager to make her mark at Roland Garros, even though this will be her main-draw debut. She lost in the qualifying draw last year and in 2017, and returns in 2019 as the No. 22 seed.

The 18-year old arrived in Paris earlier this week. Her first stop? Where else but the Nike store to pick up her fresh ensemble.

She made sure to check out the Arc de Triumph on her day off.

Chances are you have never seen Andreescu play on clay before, but she's got two matches under her belt this season with Fed Cup wins over Arantxa Rus and Richel Hogenkamp in February. Hogenkamp is the same player who ended her 2018 Roland Garros run in the final round of qualifying last year.

Although she won her biggest title on hard courts in Indian Wells, clay still might be her best surface.

“I love the clay," she said. "It suits my game style the most because I love hitting high heavy topspin balls and drop-shots and these are most effective on clay when executed correctly."

She hasn’t played since Miami, but the Canadian remains confident.

“It will take some time to get back into match shape," the teenager said. "But my goal is to improve with each match and to win it all.”

Andreescu will play qualifier Marie Bouzkova in the first round, and could potentially face off against Serena Williams in the third round. Her parting thoughts? "I can't wait! It's gonna be so much fun"!
