Andy Murray is irate after not being permitted a toilet break at 3 a.m.

Taking the piss is a famous British expression, but this Brit just wanted to take one. And who could blame him?

Andy Murray had just won the fourth set of his second-round match over Thanasi Kokkinakis and needed to go to the bathroom. Problem was, he had already used all of his bathroom allocations. So he wasn't allowed to leave the court to relieve himself.

It was the latest example of tennis getting in its own way; at a certain point, common sense should take over, and any match that goes long or extends into the middle of the night—it was 3 a.m. in Melbourne at the time of Murray's gripe—should be treated differently than a routine, midday contest.

That said, given the Australian Open's history of reading the room, maybe we shouldn't have been surprised. Remember when, after Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic played a 5:53 final, they had to ask tournament officials to bring out chairs to sit down on during the trophy ceremony?

I'm guessing that even chair umpire agreed with Murray on this one, but...I guess...she couldn't do anything about it.

She wasn't the only one that felt for Murray in this situation. In a rare example of Twitter coming together in unison, the opinion was clear: Let Andy go!

Another Andy—Roddick—shared that sentiment:

After 5:45 on court and at 4:06 a.m. local time, Murray defeated Kokkinakis, 4-6, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 6-3, 7-5. He yelled in celebration, graciously conducted an on-court interview, and then walked off the court.

Presumably, to go to the loo.
