Don’t quit your day job, Andy!

Former world No. 1 Andy Murray showed off a hilarious pink slip from five-year-old daughter Edie on Instagram, who evidently fired her father as her tennis coach.

“My first venture into the coaching world has ended in disgrace,” Murray jokingly captioned.

“5 year old daughter has quit telling me, ‘I don't want to play anymore.. you stand too close to me.’”

Murray, who is raising four children with wife Kim Sears—daughter of esteemed coach Nigel—had previously downplayed their potential interest in tennis, cooling hopes of a future Grand Slam final between the likes of eldest daughter Sophia and one of Roger Federer’s twins, Myla or Charlene.

“[Sophia] loves animals, so we got a couple of rabbits the other day,” he said back in 2022. She’s a lot more interested in the pets than anything tennis related.

“It is quite interesting because some of their school friends, whether it’s through their families or whatever, will watch. But my kids have no interest.”

Where they have shown interest is in roasting their comically beleaguered father, whom they’ve deduced is quite famous.

“Sometimes [Sophia] called me 'Andy Murray,' which I find incredibly awkward," he laughed of her tendency to refer to his full name in public.

Since coaching hasn’t worked out, perhaps we can hope for the next best thing: a Murray family reality show, one to rival The Osbournes.
