Watch your head! A fan got up close and personal with French teenager Arthur Fils' serve in the second round of the European Open on Wednesday, but all was well in the end.

Serving at 40-0 in the 10th game of the first set against Estonian 20-year-old Mark Lajal, Fils hit a second serve that landed wide of its mark down the T for a double fault, but the ball then bounced over the low backstop and into the stands, hitting a young woman sitting the in front row behind the court.

In acknowledgement, Fils put his hand up to apologize to the fan, who gave him a thumbs up that she was OK.

But the No. 4 seed went a step further when he changed ends later on, and gifted her one of his black, Asics wristbands as the Antwerp crowd cheered.

That wasn't the only time in the match that Fils came up clutch. He ultimately won the match in two tiebreaks, saving all eight break points he faced against his one-time junior rival in a tick under two hours on court.

"I'm happy to [move on and] play quarterfinals here," the 19-year-old said. "He was playing good to make break points, and I was playing good to save break points. ... I was hitting all the lines today and I'm happy with the win."

Bidding for a spot in the semifinals, he’ll face Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas, the No. 8 seed, up next.
