Hi Nick: I have a simple question I was hoping you could answer: How do I improve my groundstroke drives?
— Sebastian Roy
Hi Sebastian: There are a few basic tips that I can give you, but not knowing your grips makes it more difficult for me to answer your question.
1
Prepare your backswing a lot sooner so your contact point is slightly in front of you.
2
Make sure your racquet head is on the same plane as the ball.
3
On contact, extend your follow-through to your target area.
4
Make sure you do not drive the ball when you are several feet behind the baseline.
5
Have a strong, balanced foundation when you drive the ball.
