In Beijing, ATP stars including the likes of Milos Raonic, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal enjoyed a night out before the China Open. The event is played at the Bird's Nest stadium inside the Beijing Olympic Green Tennis Center, where the 2008 Olympic Games were held.

Recent gold medalist Murray picked up the award for "best dressed." He wore a simple shirt and jeans (before donning traditional garb for photo-ops).

"I thought it was a joke," Murray said. "We were told the fans voted for it, so I don't know how really that worked. Chinese have obviously got a good sense of humor.

"I certainly wasn't expecting that. It's probably the first and last time I'll win an award like that."

It wasn't all about the men though, as the women also attended the festivities.

Kvitova, fresh from her Wuhan title, has set up a third-round clash with second-seeded Garbine Mugurza. Murray and Nadal both won their first rounds handily, while Raonic prevailed over Florian Mayer in two tight sets.
