Moments after the US Open women’s final, the words “SHE DID IT” became the No. 1 trending topic on social media in the United States—followed by the search term “Coco Gauff.”

The 19-year-old American completed a dream run to her first Grand Slam title on Saturday with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over incoming world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. The victory marks the culmination of a stunning summer turnaround—and fulfills the destiny that many saw in the teen phenom since she burst onto the scene at 15 years old.

Congratulations were pouring in from all over the internet for the No. 6 seed—who is projected to rise to a career-high world No. 3 on Monday. Leading the praise were Barack and Michelle Obama, the former U.S. President and First Lady, who were seen supporting Gauff since her first-round victory:
