Coach Michael Joyce has confirmed via Twitter that he is no longer working with Eugenie Bouchard.

This player-coach tandem began promisingly in October 2018, now about seven months ago, with Bouchard making her way to the Luxembourg semifinals before Julia Goerges stopped her run.

This Bouchard tweet likely refers to Joyce and her now-former trainer Scott Byrnes.

The Canadian, now age 25 and No. 81 in the WTA rankings, is on leave from tour action as she receives treatment for an abdominal injury and enjoys a break from the grinding life of a professional athlete, finding some solace in a recent Disney World jaunt.

Under Joyce's tutelage, she has lost her last three singles matches, including a first-round ouster at the Miami Open's qualifying stage.
