Bouchard, Swiatek and more players do Mess-Free Challenge

Call it Taco Tennis. In the latest social-media challenge, tennis players—a lot of them—are teaming up with, of all partners, the Old El Paso Mexican-food brand.

It seems to have started with Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils showing off how they can handle a taco, or taco bowl, while performing some fancy ball-bouncing or tweener action, respectively. From there, the #MessFreeChallenge begins, with the pros involved making various tennis moves without spilling their grub.

Svitolina and Monfils put Garbine Muguruza, Benoit Paire, and Belinda Bencic to the test from there—and in turn, more players got in on the action.

The real winners here: food-insecure families across the countries and regions represented by participating players, including 5,000 to 10,000 families in the United Arab Emirates, Puerto Rico, Canada, the United States, and more.

The likes of Leander Paes, Eugenie Bouchard, Monica Puig, Sofia Kenin and more have already engaged in this Mess-Free Challenge.

Fresh off her French Open title, Iga Swiatek has been likewise challenged and she delivered.

Perpetually hungry tennis fans may know that, back in September, Andy Murray and Nick Kyrgios got the #MessFreeChallenge started with a pair of YouTube videos.

Here's hoping this food-security campaign carries through year's end, all for the good of communities in need. We can all taco-tennis toast to that.
