This one is for the birds. Ahead of next week's Rothesay Intenational, known for its vociferous seagulls, WTA player Julia Riera found herself face-to-face with a particularly brazen one in an unexpected place: her hotel room.

The 22-year-old Argentine, who played her first Grand Slam main draw last month at Roland Garros, arrived in the seaside town to find her lodging already occupied by a winged guest, whom she discovered perched on the room's desk chair.

While she got away from the encounter unharmed, the same couldn't be said for her room itself, if the video Riera posted to her social media account is to be believed. (And it has us asking, 'How'd the bird get through thatopen window?)

The water fowl are common guests in many places at the longtime tour stop, which is situated in East Sussex on the coast of the English Channel.

Last year, for example, the birds famously interrupted a match between Coco Gauff and compatriot Bernarda Pera, and were back to cause more mischief in another one of Gauff's later on in the week.

An old superstition says that it's good luck if a bird poops on your head. Riera will soon find out if the same can be said for your hotel room bed.
