With its overflowing crowds, late nights and steamy conditions, the US Open presents players with plenty of distractions. Adidas doesn’t want its players to feel their apparel adds to the noise.

The brand’s 2024 New York Collection debuting at the season’s final Slam consists of a range of high-performance pieces built for seamless movement, and will be worn by players including Jessica Pegula, Caroline Wozniacki, Elina Svitolina, Maria Sakkari, Daria Kasatkina, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The basis for the new designs comes from motion-capture technology. Using digital image recording, the player’s body was measured in motion over time to calculate which areas produce the most heat.

This data informed the strategic placement of materials and cut-outs in high-movement areas—such as the shoulders and under the arm—to maximize range of motion and body temperature management.
