Coco Gauff's phone was, predictably, ringing off the hook after she beat Maria Sakkari to win the Mubadala Citi DC Open. The only problem? She wasn't ready to answer.

With Gauff seated in front of the media after capturing her fourth career WTA singles title, and first at WTA 500 level, a FaceTime call from her brother, and another call from her dad, interrupted her champion's press conference.

On the dais, the teenager was on as much of a roll as she was on court for the duration of her 84-minute win against Sakkari. Halfway through a thoughtful answer on the differences between her tennis game during her title-winning run and that of her first-round loss at Wimbledon last month, Gauff's train of thought was interrupted when her brother called on FaceTime.

After excusing herself to take the call, the teen put her brother on blast: "I'm at press right now, bro," Gauff said, laughing. "I've got to call you later!"

And she wasn't about to let him get off scot-free for the interruption.

"That's the first time he's called me in, like, two months," Gauff said after hanging up. "I'm not even kidding. I'm usually the one calling him."

Gauff resumed her press conference shortly after, but she was hardly through the next reporter's question before she was again interrupted by her ringing phone.

"Now my dad is calling," she paused, "Oh, my God!"

The press-conference phone call was the first time that Corey Gauff took center stage this week, as his daughter was accompanied in the nation's capital by new coach Pere Riba and consultant Brad Gilbert.

Gauff and her team (as well as her cell phone) next head to Montreal, where she'll look to extend her winning streak into the WTA 1000 event. The No. 6 seed, she'll first face either British qualifier Katie Boulter or Canadian wild card Rebecca Marino after a first-round bye, with a tilt against No. 9 seed and Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova possibly on the cards in the third round.
