Already the youngest world No. 1 in ATP history, Carlos Alcaraz’s star is still on the rise. Fresh from reclaiming the top ranking and winning his first grass-court title at Queen’s Club—a strong statement of intent ahead of Wimbledon—the 20-year-old has been named as the newest ambassador for luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton.

“When I hear Louis Vuitton, I think of elegance and that it’s the best fashion brand today,” Alcaraz said in a video announcement. “I remember a long time ago when I was younger, I would see people wearing Louis Vuitton bags and clothes and I always wanted to get one of those.”

He can presumably buy as many LV bags as he wants now, having racked up $16.7 million in career prize money to date. The Spaniard also adds the Maison to his growing stable of luxury endorsement deals with the likes of Rolex, Calvin Klein and BMW.

The world No. 1 joins the brand’s stacked roster of ambassadors, which includes actors Zendaya—star of the upcoming tennis film Challengers—and Chloe Grace Moretz, South Korean rapper J-Hope, and fellow tennis star Naomi Osaka.

“Honestly, I feel really proud,” Alcaraz said. “It’s such a dream come true for me to join the Louis Vuitton family and be surrounded by big celebrities.”

Earlier this year, Alcaraz made his first foray into the fashion world as he posed in Calvin Klein’s famous underwear for the brand’s “Calvins or nothing” campaign. His “unique charm and style” apparently caught the eye of LVMH bosses, who announced their latest ambassador just days before Wimbledon kicks off.

“For a player to achieve so much so young is unprecedented, but perhaps most exciting is at just 20 years old, the future remains very bright,” the brand stated on Wednesday.

“Sharing the same spirit of endeavor and excellence dear to Louis Vuitton, the Murcia, Spain-born athlete continues to raise the bar in the world of tennis. Off the court, his unique charm and style have garnered him fans within and beyond the sphere of sport, all sure to follow him on this exciting new chapter with the Maison.”

Alcaraz is far from the only player with a high-fashion deal, with Gucci ambassador Jannik Sinner also unveiling a new campaign on Wednesday.

The Italian player was the focus of the latest chapter of “A Hero’s Journey”, a narrative series created in collaboration with GQ Sports that highlights athletes and their personal experiences—including the lengths they’ve gone to succeed. In the new video, a Gucci-clad Sinner is shown on the phone with an agent while penning a novel about his life, “Sinner” by Sinner, with the first chapter titled “The Real Me.”

“I’ve been called a robot, a machine, a superhuman… Jannik Sinner is aggressive, powerful, ambitious,” he says in the video. “I’m the kind of player who loves the game. If I could have one superpower, it would be playing tennis forever.”

Both players will be back in action at Wimbledon, which kicks off on July 3 on Tennis Channel.
