After securing her last-minute spot in the WTA Finals, Kuznetsova dug into her physical reserves to upset No. 2 seed Radwanska with a new haircut.

Karolina Pliskova def. Garbine Muguruza, 6-2, 6-7 (4), 7-5

First-time Singapore participant Pliskova fought back from 0-4 down in the third set and saved match point for her first win.

Kuznetsova def. Pliskova, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6)

The Russian solidified her Cinderella story by keeping her cool against the big-hitting Pliskova all the way into a third-set tiebreaker.

Radwanska def. Muguruza, 7-6 (1), 6-3

The Pole demolished any chances of Muguruza sneaking into the semifinals by shutting her out in two sets.

Muguruza def. Kuznetsova, 3-6, 6-0, 6-1

Kuznetsova finally ran out of gas after two previous three-set epics, and Muguruza got to end her Singapore week on a high note.

Radwanska def. Pliskova, 7-5, 6-3

In a showdown that was a must-win situation for both players, Radwanska prevailed to stay alive in Singapore.

Kuznetsova, the underdog who entered the competition by winning Moscow the day before the tournament, was the first woman to qualify for the semifinals. On Saturday, she fell to Dominika Cibulkova, while top-seeded Angelique Kerber topped Radwanska.
