Reaction to 2017's edition of the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue continues. This time it arrives in the form of a well-placed backhanded compliment hot off the tweeting fingers of Chris Evert. The 18-time major singles champion wrote a post saying:

"I really appreciate a healthy looking body....but I, for one, have had enough of looking at girls in bikinis... Just sayin."

Evert quickly followed up that tweet with another that served to qualify or clarify her original statement.

Serena Williams, Eugenie Bouchard and Caroline Wozniacki were among the 2017 #SISwimsuit participants, joining models such as cover girl Kate Upton, Chrissy Teigen and more.

It's been over a week since the magazine hit newsstands, but the stars inside the pages are still riding the high.

Bouchard defended her own appearance against her cadre of perennial "haters," and Serena, criticized by a couple potentially click-baiting commentators for her seemingly steamy photos, noted in a Q&A that she thinks "the media as a whole is finally starting to embrace and celebrate all different body types, and women are more confident about being themselves because of it."

Sixty-three-year-old Christie Brinkley, fellow 1954 baby to Evert and first crush of my father, also graces the pages of this year's issue. Evert has yet to opine via Twitter about that, but it stands to reason that she's likely mighty proud of her peer.
