Coco Gauff is everywhere these days—on and off the court.

Last week, the 20-year-old was featured on SportsPro’s list of the most marketable athletes in the world and was the top tennis player mentioned. Now she’s just been name-dropped by Tyler, The Creator in the build-up to the rapper’s upcoming album release.

“Waking up to my name being mentioned in a Tyler song… Absolutely insane,” Gauff wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Thank you!”

Tyler, The Creator has been teasing Chromakopia, his seventh album, all month long, and over the weekend he unveiled his third single, “Thought I Was Dead” along with an elaborate music video and visuals.

Rap fans and tennis fans busy parsing through all the lyrics and meanings caught a familiar name in the song’s main verse, which also features artist Santigold: B-tch, you ain't Coco Gauff, you can't serve me.

Of course, the actual Gauff serve is still a work in progress, by the American’s own admission. The 2023 US Open winner recently added Matt Daly, a new coach with expertise on grip changes, to her team to address the troublesome shot.

In her last match at the Wuhan Open, Gauff served up 21 double faults in her semifinal match—a performance that prompted opponent Aryna Sabalenka to embrace her at the net in empathy.

“I mean, there is moments in the match where you are just like, I just want to leave the court,” the 20-year-old said afterward. “I think for me, I didn't want myself to go into that mentality because it's not going to change anything. I was just trying to be positive. Today it didn't work.

“I know she (Aryna) had a similar double-faulting issue. It does give me confidence knowing that a lot of players go through this… I'm not worried because I found the solution, I just didn't really have time to work on it.”

While Gauff works on her serve between now and her next appearance at the WTA Finals Riyadh, check out Tyler, The Creator’s “Thought I Was Dead” below (viewer discretion advised). Chromakopia drops everywhere on Monday, October 28.
