As she’s worked her way back up to No. 2 in the rankings on the strength of claiming her most recent Grand Slam titles in New York and Melbourne, Naomi Osaka has garnered a tremendous amount of support from her boyfriend, the Grammy-nominated rapper Cordae.

They’ve been as inseparable as a couple can be, given the fact that there’s a global pandemic going on and that they’re both successful in their respective endeavors. Recently, the pair was featured in GQ Magazine’s “Modern Lovers” issue, where Osaka revealed how Cordae spurred her on to victory at last year’s US Open.

While Osaka is preparing for the clay-court season, Cordae just released an EP entitled “Just Until….”, intended to give the fans something to hold them over as he works on his next full-length project. Cordae dabbles a bit in doubles on the EP, collaborating with the legendary rapper Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest fame on “More Life”. “Wassup” sees the 23-year-old team up with one of his contemporaries, Young Thug.

The response to “Just Until….” on social media has been overwhelmingly positive, with many basically saying Cordae dropped the equivalent of four aces in a row. And, of course, perhaps his biggest fan expressed her gratitude.

The four-time Grand Slam winner is indirectly referenced on a couple of the tracks. As Cordae continues to work on the full-length follow-up to his debut, “The Lost Boy,” from two years ago, surely the plans are to further immortalize Osaka in song.
