Last year, Ons Jabeur finished runner-up at the Credit One Invitational in Charleston, S.C. Despite reaching the final, things didn’t work out for the Tunisian to stop by the Tennis Channel Desk.

On Thursday, after defeating Caroline Dolehide, 6-3, 7-5, Jabeur reunited with Steve Weissman. The year-long wait to speak with the two-time Grand Slam finalist at the popular 500-level WTA stop proved worth it for the TC host, as Jabeur's playful banter shone through her live appearance.

“My season starts in Charleston,” she joked after addressing Weissman’s question about her tough start to the year.

Asked about her experience at Mt. Pleasant’s Pitt St. Bridge with Belinda Bencic—the woman who denied Jabeur for the trophy a year ago here—the 28-year-old described with a laugh, “I like to call it a romantic photoshoot with Belinda.”

Later, Weissman wanted more details about her passion for perfumes. Jabeur shared she initially traveled with a pair of fragrances, but has since seen the number grow to carrying 10 options.

“Always when I go to the airport, I text my husband, ‘Come get me out, I’m gonna buy all the perfumes here,’” she recalled.

What was the day’s winning scent, Weissman wondered? Gucci.

“I’m really a crazy perfume person. Gucci if you’re here listening, I’m here for sponsoring,” declared Jabeur.

“In the future, I want to have my own perfumes. It’s my way to show my personality, show my love to other people.”
