Located in the artist’s enclave of Spitalfields, East London, Dennis Severs’ house is a four-story Georgian terrace home originally constructed in 1724. In the 1970s, American artist Dennis Severs purchased and moved into the dilapidated and forgotten home.

He then was inspired to create an interactive time capsule, and restore the house to its history. The floors of the home represent different time periods, and tell an interactive story of the families which once would have lived in it.

The first few floors house antique décor from the Baroque period, while the topmost floors depict family life in London in during the gritty industrial era. Severs wished for guests to step back in time, and imagine life in the past as they walk through each room of the house.
