Always the bridesmaid, (almost) never the bride.

On Sunday in Sofia, David Goffin once again went through the pain of falling one match short of the title. The 26-year-old had to sit in obvious disappointment while Grigor Dimitrov walked away with his second title of 2017.

The home favorite Bulgarian sealed the crown with a 7-5, 6-4 win. In the Belgian's defense, he hasn't won a tournament since 2014 (the year he won his first two career titles). It marked Goffin's fifth career final loss in a row.

After expressing some unease about playing at home for the first time, the third-seeded Dimitrov struggled in his opening round, before sweeping past his next three opponents in straight sets.

Though the tournament is just an ATP 250 event, it'll surely have a special place in the Bulgarian's heart forever, while it's just another one that got away for Goffin.
