Djokovic excites fans with entrance into Eastbourne

The Serb has never played in the Eastbourne tournament before.

Novak Djokovic hasn't had the most successful 2017 season, but to change that and prepare for Wimbledon, he accepted a wildcard into Eastbourne. It is not the most likely of places for the Serb to go, considering this is the first time he has played there, but he says the new setting might do him some good.

"I thought I wanted to change things up a bit and I haven't played any lead-up tournaments to Wimbledon for seven years, I think the last time [was] Queens in 2010," the world No. 4 said. "So I thought I needed a bit more matches before coming into Wimbledon, and chose Eastbourne."

Fans are thrilled to see the 12-time Grand Slam champion make an appearance, and Djokovic has been enjoying the scenery.

The weather may have made for some good photo-ops, but it hasn't been good for tennis. On Tuesday, Djokovic's opening round against Vasek Pospisil was halted due to rain, pushing the match to Wednesday.

Of course, the world No. 2's demeanor hasn't been dampened by the dark skies overhead.
