In Milan, friendly competition and crazy rallies were happening aplenty earlier this week as Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Fabio Fognini and Flavia Pennetta faced off during a two-day tennis charity event called Djokovic and Friends.

The first day saw Williams play against Pennetta (in the Italian’s first match since playing the WTA finals last year).  The world No. 2 won 6-3, 6-3, but Pennetta showed that she still has plenty of skill and fight left in her even in retirement.

Then came the mixed doubles match between Djokovic and Pennetta versus Williams and Fognini. This rally sums up the madness that occurred pretty well:

Of course, the main spectacle of the event was the exhibition match on Thursday between Djokovic and Nadal.

Djokovic won 6-4, 6-4, but not without producing some memorable moments:

Who else thinks Nadal could double as a soccer star?

The event raised money for the Novak Djokovic Foundation which promotes early childhood education in Serbia and helps children in disadvantaged communities.
