Djokovic's son Stefan takes to the courts

Stefan Djokovic looks almost ready to join his dad on the pro tour. The five-year-old was perfectly at home on the clay courts of the Novak Tennis Center in Belgrade, where the first leg of the Adria Tour took place last weekend.

Little Stefan has been spotted trailing Novak Djokovic to work before. In February, he was in Dubai and even came to press.

"He likes playing tennis," Djokovic said. "But I'm not pushing or forcing anything really for him to play, to come, whatever. It happens naturally spontaneously day by day."

Stefan made his most popular debut at Wimbledon in 2018 when he appeared in the player box to watch his world No. 1-ranked dad win the title.

Djokovic recently was featured on an episode ofIn Depth with Graham Bensinger. He was asked about his young family, which also includes a two-year-old daughter named Tara.

"[Tara] doesn’t realize what is happening in tennis and who is who," Djokovic said. "And my boy he already is starting to realize what’s going on. He’s starting to understand. And he’s a very smart boy and very mature for his age. He’s handling it very well."

Much of the Bensinger feature covered Djokovic's childhood and challenging path to the top of the pro tour, which included many sacrifices made by himself and his family. Now as one of the most famous and richest athletes on the planet, his children won't deal with the same problems he did.

"They will not have the heartache and the challenges and obstacles that we had financially and economically, obviously," Djokovic said. "But at the same time they will have to experience a much greater emotional challenge in their upbringing mentally to be regarded as 'the son of' or 'the daughter of.'"

Stefan, "son of Novak", seems to be doing more than just fine for now as the thrills Djokovic fans with his appearances.
