Djokovic, Tsitsipas and more nominated for ATP Awards

The 2018 season has seen a lot of changes on the ATP World Tour. Novak Djokovic returned to the top of the game, Stefanos Tsitsipas rocketed 75 spots up the rankings and Alex De Minaur entered the Top 35 as a teenager.

The nominations for the ATP World Tour Awards are out, and all of these changes and more are reflected in the contenders.

Unlike with the WTA, the awards for the best singles player and doubles team go to the year-end No. 1s. The winners of the other main categories, however, are voted on by the players.

The first of those is Comeback Player of the Year, which features Djokovic, Jason Kubler, John Millman and Kei Nishikori.

The nominees for Most Improved Player of the Year are Marco Cecchinato, De Minaur, Kyle Edmund and Tsitsipas.

And up for Newcomer of the Year are De Minaur, Ugo Humbert, Hubert Hurkacz, Michael Mmoh and Jaume Munar.

Nominated for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award are Kevin Anderson, Juan Martin del Potro, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Federer's won this award 13 of the past 14 years, with his first coming in 2004.

While the Player of the Year is decided by the rankings, there are also Fans' Favorite Awards for both singles and doubles, and there's a very wide range of players to vote for.

Federer will be in contention for his 16th consecutive win in that category, having received the award every year since 2003.

The Bryan brothers have also won the doubles award every year since its inception, in 2005. This time, Mike Bryan is on the ballot twice, once with his brother, Bob, and again with Jack Sock, with whom he recently won both Wimbledon and the US Open.

There are also player-voted awards for the best ATP 250, ATP 500 and Masters 1000-level events, as well as Coach of the Year, which is chosen by the coaches.

Last, the ATP selects the recipients of the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award and Ron Bookman Media Excellence Award.
