What's better than singles? Doubles. Specifically Shacksbury's double dry hopped cider. The small cidery located in Champlain Valley in Vermont recently collaborated with Modern Times Beer to present a hard-cider that's fresher than a new can of tennis balls.

"Doubles" is the third in the series of tennis-inspired ciders from the Vermont brand. The first limited-cider was a bone dry cider with Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand called "Topspin."

Then came "Lo-Ball," a cider collaboration with culinary brand Momofuku. Shacksbury topped off their crisp cider with yuzu and passionfruit that paired spectacularly with the restaurant's ssäm and shiitake buns.

"Somewhere between a session IPA and a dry cider, Doubles is made by dry hopping our classic cider with Motueka and Nelson hops," the brand wrote on Instagram.

This limited cider really brought it's A game as it's gluten-free and contains 6.5% alcohol. It's a refreshing beverage that goes down easy, especially after a long day on the court. The winning combination of Motueka and Nelson is a great choice for beer connoisseurs, cider lovers and tennis fans alike.

The cider will be hitting select stores soon, but if you want to get your hands on these tennis-themed cans now, they are also available online. The 12-pack go 16oz cans is priced at $60, which includes shipping.

"I jokingly say that tennis is the official sport of Shacksbury," the brand's partner Luke Schmueker said. Everyone at Shacksbury tries to stay active and it’s definitely something we encourage. Why tennis specifically? Honestly we try to play tennis whenever we all travel together - I think it had to be tennis because it’s the only sport where we are all pretty much at the same level. Also regardless of where you are you can usually find a court."

It's also the official drink at The Courts. A peaceful tennis facility nestled in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park that Schmueker enjoys playing at. In fact, the tennis club's owners Adil Dara and Leah Goren illustrated the aesthetically-pleasing cider cans.

Dara and Goren can be spotted on the cans, in their on-court attire with racquets in hand.

"Doubles is a crowd pleaser, bringing together beer lovers, cider drinkers and everyone in between," Shacksbury said about the latest beverage.

On that note, doubles anyone?
