Another Ukrainian brand is getting the seal of approval from the country's most decorated female tennis player. Elina Svitolina was recently announced as the first-ever brand ambassador for the jewelry company SOLO for Diamonds, a lab-grown diamond maker.

Since war broke out in her homeland in 2022 as Russia invaded Ukraine in particular, Svitolina has taken her status as a de facto ambassador for her country to the world seriously, and literally. During the initial months of her 2023 comeback following the birth of her and husband Gael Monfils' daughter, she wore clothes on court designed by Paka, a fledgling Ukrainian sportswear brand, before signing with Adidas, and her eponymous Elina Svitolina Foundation finances the Ukrainian Billie Jean King Cup team.

"I take pride in supporting brands that highlight our country's innovation and craftsmanship, Svitolina told *Sports Illustrated* in an interview this week highlighting her new partnership.

"What makes this partnership so special is the shared commitment to representing Ukraine. For both SOLO for Diamonds and me, it's about more than just being Ukrainian–it's about showcasing the innovation, resilience, and beauty that define our country."

Svitolina wore several pieces from the brand in a bold photo shoot that centered the color red, including earrings, necklaces, rings and a diamond bracelet she dubbed her favorite. Wearing a bodycon, long-sleeved red dress in front of a similarly-colored background, Svitolina says that the color speaks to her on a personal level: "It's bold, passionate, and full of energy, much like my approach to life and my career."

"Red felt like the perfect choice to reflect the strength, resilience, and vitality that both the brand and I strive to embody," she said.

Svitolina will make her season debut as the No. 28 seed at the Australian Open later this week, having shut down her 2024 early following the US Open to have foot surgery but vowing to come back "even stronger than before." Now 30, the former world No. 3 still admits to having high aspirations for the rest of her career.

"My goals for 2025 are to prioritize my health," she said. "I've had some struggles a little bit over the past couple of years, but even so, I managed to finish two seasons in a row in the Top 30. But I always want to aim for even higher.

"Returning to the Top 10 is a big goal for me, and I'm doing everything I can to prepare my body and mind for the challenges ahead. I try to do my very best to prepare my body for this and then to be ready for some chances to get back to the top."
