Emma Stone, Steve Carell nominated for Golden Globes

The leading stars of the Battle of the Sexes, which premiered in September, are up for Golden Globe awards. Steve Carell, who played Bobby Riggs, and Emma Stone, who took on Billie Jean King, are nominated for Best Performance (Musical or Comedy).

Stone won an Oscar in 2017 for best actress (La La Land). She has previously been nominated for a Golden Globe four times (winning her first in 2017, also for La La Land).

Carell won a Golden Globe in 2005 for his work in The Office. This marks his ninth Golden Globe nomination.

The 2018 Golden Globes ceremony will take place on January 7.
