Former world No. 20 Guido Pella is retiring from professional tennis.
The 33-year-old shared his decision in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday evening.
“It was an amazing journey, with a lot of nice things that allowed me to live moments that not everyone can and for that I will be eternally grateful,” Pella said in a translation.
“As the person I admire most in my life says, ‘All our dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them.’ I think I was able to fulfill just about everything I set out in tennis, and now it will be time to look for them elsewhere.”
