Fed Cup stars step out for official team dinners

Fed Cup action is taking over the globe this weekend with a slew of top players taking part. Before every Fed Cup tie there is always an official dinner with both teams dressing up in matching outfits and enjoying a night of fun and relaxation before competition gets underway.

Romania is taking on the a strong defending champion Czech team, and have the added task of playing an away tie in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Simona Halep leads the charge and is scheduled for singles on Saturday.

The Czechs beat the United States last year to win the title. Karolina Pliskova leads the Czechs and could face Halep in the third rubber.

Over in North Carolina, the U.S. will host Australia as they seek to make their third final in a row.

The Australians actually wore a similar outfit to the Americans. Leather jackets must be very in in the South this time of the year.

France traveled to Belgium for its tie, and got decked out in red for the occasion. Caroline Garcia is making her first Fed Cup appearance since 2016.

The Belgians, all dressed in black, will be led by Elise Mertens.

Belarus made the final in 2017 and will vie for a spot in the semifinals against Germany. Victoria Azarenka will make her highly anticipated return as she's scheduled for doubles.

The Germans are going to host the Belarusians in Braunschweig. Action begins all over the globe on Saturday.
