So what does it take to be the most stylish man of the decade? Well, for starters, one must be consistent, confident, wear a lot of suits, take a few risks and occasionally throw in a pair of fresh kicks.

Who did this the best? The people have spoken and the Decade's Most Stylish Man, People's Choice Award went to 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.

Fans around the world took part in a daily bracket contest, deciding who would advance between two celebrities each day on GQ's Instagram story. Federer would surpass A$AP Rocky, Jonah Hill, Harry Styles and Timothee Chalamet to become the last man standing.

Other candidates included Kanye West, Ryan Gosling, Justin Bieber, Shia LaBeouf, Tyler the Creator, John Mayer, Russell Westbrook, Pharrell Williams, Young Thug, David Beckham and LeBron James.

Federer's GQ blurb reads:

“Some of the guys on this list made their reputations on red carpets; others, in paparazzi shots. Roger Federer, on the other hand, has a case for most stylish man of the decade thanks to something as simple as this: When the guy puts on his Wimbledon whites, he stands basically alone. It’s not about his clothes so much as the righteously relaxed, preternaturally confident way he moves in them. (Also: Dude is a Bond-level tux wearer.)”

When all is said and done it seems that the importance isn't what you're wearing but how you wear it. Federer has continued to serve aces on and off the court.
