Wilson brought out six youngsters to test out their new Pro Staff racquets at the US Open’s new Grand Stand. The lucky juniors had a packed day full of practice on the freshest court in Flushing Meadows.

Thinking their day had already peaked, the young players were brought into the on-site Wilson shop for a focus group with a surprise guest. After all, who knows the Pro Staff better than Roger Federer?

The 17-time Grand Slam champion and namesake for the Pro Staff RF97 Autograph appeared before the stunned and surprisingly silent teenagers. Maybe they were just playing it cool like Federer would. The father of four was perfectly patient at coaxing the children out of their shells with his probing questions.

The new Pro Staff 97 come in three weights, so players like these juniors can progress through the line as their games develop. The all-black Pro Staff 97RF Autograph was co-designed by Federer from start to finish. He's played with Wilson since his own junior days.

Although he’s missing from the US Open this year and out for the rest of the season, everyone will get to see him play with the slick black stick in January (hopefully).
