The ITF's Katrina Adams stays on the front lines for women with the Tory Burch Foundation Sports Fellowship

Eugenie Bouchard hasn't competed since March due to a torn subscapularis in her right shoulder. In June she decided to undergo surgery and has been in the process of recovering ever since. It's been a long road for the Canadian and it could be nearing the end.

Bouchard took to Instagram to share a quick update on her progress and latest visit with her doctor on Tuesday.

"I saw the doctor last week and everything is on track and is going well, but he wants me to strengthen my shoulder a little bit more before I get back on court," Bouchard said on her Instagram story. "Everything is still on time, so I just need a few more weeks of intense PT and strengthening and then I can finally—five months later get on the court."

The 2014 Wimbledon finalist may not have been on the court for the majority of the year, but she sure didn't slow down. Bouchard joined forces with Tennis Channel over the summer as a Tennis Channel Live host. Most recently, she joined Steve Weissman on the Tennis Channel set during the second week of Indian Wells and commentated alongside Brett Haber during the desert action.

The 27-year-old is currently ranked No. 231 and having only played four tournaments this season—holds a 5-4 match record in 2021.
