Caty McNally is a 17-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio that's quickly making a name for herself. The American has already had big-time success in the juniors and is just starting to get her feet wet on the professional tour. With a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win over Christina McHale on Thursday, McNally is into her first WTA quarterfinal.

Here are the five things you need to know about McNally.

The American captured the 2018 junior French Open at the age of 16 with partner Iga Swiatek. She lost in the singles final to Cori "Coco" Gauff.

The world No. 150 then partnered with Gauff to win last year's junior US Open.

McNally defeated Jessica Pegula earlier this year in the final of Midland's 100K to take home her second pro title.She won her first ITF title, a 25K, last November, and has won five doubles ITF crowns.

In June, she qualified for her first Grand Slam main draw at Wimbledon.

McNally recorded her first WTA main draw victory at this week's Citi Open in Washington D.C. The young American is one of many unseeded players in a wide-open draw, and will face the winner of Hsieh Su-Wei and Kirsten Flipkens.
