Amanda Anisimova made history on Thursday by, at 17, becoming the youngest American woman to reach the third round of Roland Garros since Serena Williams did it, in 1998.
But there's one other new face making waves on the women's side of the draw, in Poland's Iga Swiatek, who won both of her first two rounds by a score of 6-3, 6-0. In her Thursday win, against No. 16 seed Wang Qiang, Swiatek blasted 33 winners to Wang's five.
Swiatek, who would turn 18 on Friday, called the win on Twitter, "the best birthday gift I could've think of."
