FOURHAND: Federer's pricey haircut; Vaidisova retires

FED HEAD  According to his new Wilson Tennis video ad, Darth Federer, with his new, all-black axe in tow, is just waiting for you to "eclipse" him. Good luck with that. You probably have a better chance of topping his $400-$800 haircut.

FUN HOUSE  Fed's mentor of sorts, Pete Sampras, and wife Bridgette Wilson-Sampras have put their Brentwood estate on the market, and the asking price, resort-style pool and all, is just under $9 million. (Tennis stars: Turns out they're not just like us.)

FAREWELL, AGAIN  Nicole Vaidisova retired for the second time, due to ongoing injuries that have her on medical tables as often as she's been on tennis courts, and she revealed the move on Instagram with a compelling photo post.

TRIVIA TIME  Raise your hand if you knew that, behind Sabine Lisicki, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams, Julia Goergeshas the fourth-fastest serve in WTA history.
