GOAT debate? Step aside. Frances Tiafoe has chosen his own ATP Tour “Big 3”, and it’s all about the funniest guys in tennis.

The No. 10 seed was in high spirits after his opening match at Wimbledon, where he has continued his momentum with a run to the third round. When Tiafoe was asked to name the Top 3 funniest people on the tour, he put together a list of heavy hitters—starting with one obvious pick.

“Definitely putting myself in there,” Tiafoe responded grinning. “And I would definitely put, obviously, Gael [Monfils] in there.

“He's unbelievable... Just how he carries himself and the things he says, quite funny.”

“Very dry humor. Very, very funny," Tiafoe said of Andy Murray. “You guys think he's boring or whatever, but I think he's hilarious!"

The American has long looked up to Monfils, a beloved figure on the ATP Tour considered to be one of the game’s greatest showmen. The 36-year-old Frenchman is also well known on tour for having a great sense of humor—but the player that Tiafoe named next was more of “a curveball”.

“I'm going to put Andy Murray in there,” he said. “Very dry humor. Very, very funny.

“You guys think he's boring or whatever, but I think he's hilarious! Man, I love that guy. We get along really well.

“Yeah, he's not one people think about, anything about funny. He's definitely very funny.”

The American has had plenty to smile about during the first week of Wimbledon, where he has progressed without dropping a set. After defeating Wu Yibing 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-4 in his opening match, Tiafoe took down Dominic Stricker 7-6 (11), 6-4, 6-2 to reach the third round. He arrived at SW19 after winning his first grass-court title and third overall in Stuttgart.

Tiafoe, the No. 10 seed, faces No. 21 seed Grigor Dimitrov on Saturday.

Murray, on the other hand, is still waiting to complete his second-round match, locked in battle with No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas on Centre Court. The match was suspended due to Wimbledon’s evening curfew with Murray leading 6-7 (3), 7-6 (2), 6-4, and will resume on Friday.
