The hype around the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris just hit a fever pitch for tennis fans, after the 16 mixed doubles teams set to compete at Roland Garros were confirmed on Wednesday,

At least 15 players ranked inside the Top 10 in singles or doubles are entered, with Americans Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz set to make their Olympic debut as the No. 2 seeds. Gauff has previously reached the singles final at 2022 Roland Garros, and won the women’s doubles title with Katerina Siniakova this year, while Fritz has made clay-court semifinal appearances in Monte Carlo and Madrid.

There are four seeded teams in total, with the No. 1 team composed of Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Alexander Zverev and Laura Siegemund, the 2024 Roland Garros mixed doubles champion, representing Germany.

Australia’s Matthew Ebden and Ellen Perez, this year’s French Open quarterfinalists, are the No. 3 seeds, while fan-favorites Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari will once again suit up for Greece on the world stage as the No. 4 seeds.

Every seasoned tennis lover's favorite competition at the Olympics, mixed doubles is also unique for being one of the Games’ handful of co-ed competitions—there are only 20 of these in Paris including athletics, swimming and judo, up from 18 mixed gender events in Tokyo.

The draw ceremony for mixed doubles, and all Paris Olympics tennis events, will be held at Roland Garros on Thursday.

The mixed doubles event will kick off on Monday, July 29.
