Tennis Channel Live: WTA Finals

Garbine Muguruza is in Guadalajara and will be making her fourth-career appearance at the WTA Finals. Through the rollercoaster ups and downs that the lengthy season brings, the Spaniard always manages to have fun. Just take a look through her Instagram feed and it's full of adventure, smiles and of course dancing.

Muguruza talked about the importance of having fun while traveling to events and finding balance.

"Well, I feel like doing these type of things, having fun - we were isolated for so many tournaments and in bubbles—when I get to get out, do fun stuff, I want to tape it, want to just show the world that we are doing more things than playing tennis," Muguruza told press. "Why not show a little bit of Guadalajara, the vibes we have here that is such a good feeling?"

There's no shortage of having fun, and she stands strongly with her Instagram bio that reads: "Just Fun. Life is too big to play small." According to Muguruza it's not only about playing big on the court but off of it as well.

"Yeah, balancing is always the key. Very hard.

"It has been very hard also in 2021, at the beginning especially, not being able to do anything but playing tennis, which is good, but you can burn out very quickly. Some weeks were tough, others were good. I always try to do fun stuff and show my fans that I'm in a good mood," she said.

The 28-year-old is doing an excellent job of keeping her fans in the loop with her many adventures beyond the baseline. Everything from eating freshly-baked croissants to visiting the Ryder Cup and behind-the-scenes looks into events can be found on her Instagram profile.

It appears she has found the perfect balance after yet another successful season.

As for her on-court highlight of 2021, she didn't hesitate to say Dubai in which she beat three competitors en route to the title who also qualified for this week's prestigious tournament.

"Well, the highlight is definitely winning Dubai. I felt like that was an amazing feeling. Although we had no crowd in the final, that was such a weird feeling.

"It was an important tournament for me that I always played well. I was always almost. But this year also making several finals, making it to the trophy, lifting it there, it was great. It really helped me out to get that confidence, that extra confidence."

Muguruza is set to take on Karolina Pliskova to kick things off on Wednesday.
