Racquet: Wilson Blade 98 (16x19) v9 ($259)

The Blade 98 is Wilson’s most popular amongst its touring pros. Whether grinding in long baseline exchanges or taking the initiative with first strike tactics, it’s a versatile frame that thrives playing a variety of styles and strategies. This well-roundedness has made it a perennial favorite at the recreational level as well.

The ninth generation of the line is designed to have improved stability thanks to StableFeel bending technology. The result is a more predictable response that will encourage players to go for their shots.

Badosa opts for the 16x19 model, which brings a bit more power, spin and comfort than its 18x20 sibling.

Apparel: NikeCourt Slam Tank Top ($70) and Skirt ($85)

The fitted tank has a high neckline for maximum coverage, but is made of lightweight, textured fabric that doesn’t feel restrictive. The racerback design and breathable mesh in the back of the garment enhances ventilation to keep you cool when temperatures rise.

Made with moisture-wicking material to keep sweat off your body, this skirt will keep you dry and comfortable. It’s flowy with a stretchy, relaxed fit—including a mesh, elastic waistband—so it won’t get in your way even during the most aggressive movement. And whether for a spare ball, smartphone or other personal item, the built-in inner shorts have drop-in pockets for extra storage.

Shoes: Nike Vapor Pro 2 Premium ($140)

The second installment of the sturdy, all-court Vapor Pro 2 shoe returns its low-to-the-ground ride for maximum responsiveness and explosive movement.

Air Zoom cushioning in the forefoot and foam in the midfoot provide spring and protection while maintaining good court connection. A stretchy inner sleeve hugs the foot like a sock, and the asymmetrical lacing allows you to cinch the shoes tight without pinching. A full-length foot frame on the outside of the shoe provides added security when making aggressive lateral cuts. Rubber has been removed from the data-informed outsole to create optimal grip and durability without impairing the ability to slide.
