Daria Kasatkina, a 19-year-old dark horse surging through the rankings, isn't a name one hears often, but may become a household name in the future.

The WTA uncovered more about Kasatkina's off-court life, asking questions like: "What couldn't you live without?" Her answer is something everyone can all relate to.

"Sweets and food. It's basic."

The No. 32 has already notched Top 10 wins, most notably against Angelique Kerber, who she has actually defeated twice this year (in Sydney and on Thursday in Doha).

Although a WTA trophy has eluded her so far, Kasatkina's ITF Pro Circuit career included seven title wins. She did claim her first doubles title in Moscow in 2015 (with Elena Vesnina), where she also reached the singles semifinals. The teen seems to thrive in front of her home country because she enjoyed a run to the semifinals of St. Petersburg last year.

The big-hitting Russian is playing against Monica Puig in the quarterfinals in Doha, but play was suspended due to rain. Rain has been so persistent all week that Kasatkina actually took the court against Puig just hours after upsetting Kerber.
