Grigor Dimitrov, Stefanos Tsitsipas and more star in hilarious tribute to 'dead' one-handed backhand

Reports of the death of the one-handed backhand have been greatly exaggerated, but the stars of the ATP Tour hoping to be ready for whenever that day comes.

Grigor Dimitrov, Lorenzo Musetti, Stefanos Tsitsipas and more famous one-handers came together for a hilarious tribute video to the increasingly-rare groundstroke, where they told fans that it's hard work getting used to a "two-handed" lifestyle—on and off the court.

"I just wanted to let you know that that me and a few of the other boys have been working very hard on a few changes," Dimitrov says in the video. "We've been trying to use two hands everywhere we can.

"All I can say is that we're working hard, and making progress."

In meme-worthy style, watch Tsitsipas try to brush his teeth, Eubanks attempt to eat lunch, and Dominic Thiem struggle to paint a masterpiece with a paintbrush double-handed in the video below.

But the eulogy comes in jest. The Bulgarian, now 33 years old, said earlier this year that he will forever be the "biggest supporter" of the one-handed backhand.

Famously in February, there was no one with a one-handed backhand ranked in the Top 10 for the first time since the advent of the ATP rankings in 1973, before Dimitrov (and for a time, the struggling Tsitsipas) rectified that in the spring.

“For sure I'm counting on every guy that's still out there with one hand to keep on pushing and playing for that," Dimitrov said in Indian Wells. "Of course I will probably be the biggest supporter of that shot.

“I think the beauty of the one hand is just there's so much to it in order to hit the ball right with one hand."
