The All England Club is mere hours from opening its doors for the 2024 Wimbledon Championships and things are already getting spicy between dark horse contender Holger Rune and former coach Boris Becker.

Becker, who worked with Rune for five months from the end of 2023 to the start of 2024, tweeted confusion over whether the Dane and current coach Patrick Mouratoglou were indeed still working together, claiming not to have seen the two together in the days leading up to the third Grand Slam tournament of the season.

“Quick question: I see @pmouratoglou in London but NOT with @holgerrune2003 at @Wimbledon…they are still working together?!?” tweeted the former world No. 1, who won Wimbledon three times and previously worked with Novak Djokovic.

No stranger to the reply button, Rune was quick to answer Becker directly, calling out his ex-coach on the public nature of his post, which was sent from Twitter/X for all to see.

“Super strange you don’t ask me this question directly as we text together about other stuff 😂”  Rune posted in reply. “The answer to your question is yes we work together. Sharing the tournaments between us as planned.”

Seeded No. 15 at SW19, Rune could face No. 2 seed Djokovic in the fourth round, but will first have to contend with first-round opponent Soon-woo Kwon, a former world No. 52 who missed much of last season due to a shoulder injury. Kwon leads their head-to-head 2-0, having beaten the former world No. 4 in four sets at the 2022 Australian Open.
