Until this year, Holger Rune had never won a grass-court match.

But after a semifinal trip at London Queen’s, Rune has proven that run was no fluke in advancing to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

On Monday, the sixth seed fought off 21st-seeded Grrgor Dimitrov, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4), 6-3, in three hours and 20 minutes. Rune was down a set and 4-2 before digging his heels in on No. 1 Court, finishing with 46 winners and 27 unforced errors.
