The Stan Wawrinka vs. Roger Federer Roland Garros quarterfinal has not disappointed. The two compatriots are putting each other to the test, as evidenced by Federer's reaching volley hot shot in the third-set tiebreaker.

Federer had the edge, winning two tiebreak sets for a 7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-6 (5) lead. Before the rain started falling, they were locked at 3-3 in the fourth.

Despite the tension and supreme display of effort, the two remain friends at heart. They returned to the court with Federer sealing the fourth set, 6-4.

Wawrinka has beaten Federer just three times (and lost 23 times). Federer will clash with Rafael Nadal in the semifinals.
